I am Anne Frost and I originally trained in the 1970s as a Calligrapher and Heraldic Artist.
My training included the designing and writing of Coats of Arms that had been granted by the Lord Lyon in Edinburgh.
After that I started a Craft Shop business in Aberlady in the late 1970s which involved choosing well-designed craft products to sell in the family craft shop.
More recently, I went to Jewel & Esk Valley College which kindled my interest in creating exciting and different Textiles. After completing my City & Guilds at Jewel & Esk I then went on to complete the four year City & Guilds Diploma course at Telford College in Edinburgh.
In between times I also attend week summer courses in Cottenham outside Cambridge with Pauline Verrinder, to have 5 days of nothing but constructing and destructing is bliss.
I opened up a Shop/Gallery called Sew in Stitches in 2005 in Aberlady, East Lothian to encourage Textile Artists to exhibit their pieces, and also to provide a supply shop for more general textile-based activities.
I have now embarked on a Master Class course in Durham to stretch me even further and to encourage the process of taking textile based design to the next level.
Whatever next, I have no idea but time will tell.
